Times are exciting around the Carr household. Last night Scott was coaching a basketball game at the high school and I was on my way there when I stopped at Chipotle for some dinner.
I have been sooo miserably nauseous lately and it makes it worse if I go without eating for a while...but whenever I look at food I want to throw up 90% of the time so it can be a challenge.
I finally decided on Chipotle. When I pulled up, the line was pretty long but I needed food and figured it would take just as long to leave and get food somewhere else. Plus nothing sounded good and the line usually moves quickly there.
Well, not quick enough...I started feeling yuck so I popped in a Preggie Pop, this silly little candy that sometimes does the trick. Definitely did not yesterday. I had maybe three people in front of me waiting to order when I got SUPER nauseous and grabbed the railing...poised for the barf to fly (I did look around and contemplate stepping out of line to the trash can but literally I thought..."No way, this line is too long. And then people will think I have the flu, which I don't" Therefore...no stepping out of line.
I ran through a couple scenarios in my brain of asking the people in front of me to let a pregnant woman order first but 1. I don't even look pregnant at this point and with the long line I doubt they would have believed me and 2. by this point I was realizing it wasn't going to be fast enough. I thought about jumping to the front of the line begging for a chip or anything but 1. that seemed a little desperate and 2. it was too late.
Tunnel vision started setting in, my head felt a bit tipsy and then my hearing went. Suddenly my legs gave out and I was a gonner. Haha...Oh yeah. I was on the floor. People were calling 911, it was too late. It took a few seconds to be able to really see and took longer to get my normal hearing back. They laid me down then decided to take me to a chair...but my legs weren't working very well...I probably looked a bit rag dollish.
Blah blah blah...I left in an ambulance because I didn't feel normal and here is Scott waiting with me when he met me at the hospital, sporting his lovely orange tie (school color) from Patrick and Ashley. I have to say he got a lot of compliments on it at the big H.
Don't buy that expression. He didn't know I was taking a picture. He was just thrilled to be there! Getting text updates about the game every minute. Good times had by all.
The doc knew exactly what was going on...which is just a weird mix of nausea and blood pooling which happens to a lot of pregnant woman. And BEST of all...(drum roll please) he sent me home with meds for nausea (a week's supply since I have my first OB appointment on Wednesday). He was very obliging.
