I keep reading about the DHAs that are so important. I have them in my prenatal vitamin, but lets be honest, since being sick I haven't been the most consistent with them. I am starting my 3rd trimester tomorrow (Yea!!!) and read that now is a very important time for brain development and that he can really benefit from those DHAs soooo...since I also love my husband (who I constantly deprive from fish because I don't like it and I'm the one who cooks), I decided to make BOTH of my boys happy and healthy and make some salmon. And guess what...it wasn't bad at all. I started with a very small portion and actually gave myself a tiny bit more. So it was a successful venture! And Scott liked!
Yesterday in Primary, Sister Friendly came for a visit. She's a pretty crazy lady and yesterday she brought her summer version of herself. Flower Leis, hamburger flipper to conduct music with, chili pepper apron, sun hat, pool floaty, sand bucket with lots of trinkets with songs attached to them. She had a good time with the kids and the kids are so funny when she comes! Even though they think they know it's me, they tell Sister Friendly things they've already told Sister Carr.
Different wards do Sister Friendly differently. My ward wasn't doing it at all so I asked if I could do it for singing time. My version of Sis. F is from the south. Georgia to be exact. I got the accent (which is surely exaggerated) from listening to Betsy Brannon Green's novels on CD. I have gotten to know lots about Southern customs, which I share as needed to help the kids behave. ;) So she pops up from time to time to reward the kids. She always brings treats with her! Part of me doing this summer get up was to distract from my pregnant tummy. The older kids are always trying to find proof that Sis. Carr and Sis. F are the same person. So I'm very careful to not wear any jewelry those Sundays except my wedding ring because I care but not enough to take of my ring! But I change my clothes and shoes and always wear a hat and glasses. Yeah, I guess I get into my calling sometimes!
How fun! You're an awesome primary chorister. I'm sure the kids look forward to visits from Sister Friendly. I know I wish she'd come to my church!
